According to reports, it may be an MNC but Schneider Electric India makes everything of ‘balance of system’ needed by a solar PV power project in India. This, coupled with 400-odd service execution teams to provide quick service to customers, is Schneider’s big USP, according to Mr Sandip Ghosh, Director of the Renewables Business.
Schneider, a company engaged in energy management, aims for a big play in the market for solar inverters in India, Mr Ghosh said. Last year, it sold inverters for 25 MW, but Mr Ghosh stresses that ‘Schneider-involved’ projects would amount to 300 MW. Schneider produces a range of products such as junction boxes, transformers, switchgear, metering, and monitoring systems. “Everything is manufactured in India,” Mr Ghosh said.
