According to reports, HP-owned IT services company MphasiS is incubating two new areas of businesses — product engineering services (PES) and payment solutions.
Under PES, the company is working on solutions for smart appliances where there would be a single chip connecting different appliances used by the customer such as microwaves, fridges and home security systems.
“The idea is that we believe that there would be a proliferation of different kind of intelligence appliances. Our job is to help customers build intelligence into appliances,” Mr Ganesh Ayyar, Chief Executive Officer, MphasiS, toldBusiness Line.
“We aren’t getting into appliance business, but we are taking our framework to build intelligence into appliances,” he added. The company is focused on areas such as automotive devices, medical devices, and communication devices, Mr Ayyar said.
