Green Infra, Bharat Light Bid for Lanco’s Wind Power Assets

According to reports, IDFC Private Equity-promoted  Green Infra and  Bharat Light and Power, founded by former GE chief executive TS Chopra, are among four bidders interested in Lanco Infratech’s wind power assets, a senior Lanco official told ET. Lanco Infratech had earlier announced plans to divest interests in wind power assets. PIH Energy to set up 100 MW solar farm in Gujarat

According to reports, power development company PIH Energy is setting up a 100 mw solar farm in Gujarat. The project will create the ecosystem for the solar farm and will invite other power developers to be part of it and bring in corresponding investments, said a senior official of the company in Hyderabad on Thursday. Siemens wins second solar receivers order for solar power plant in India

Siemens Energy has been awarded an order to supply UVAC 2010 (Universal Vacuum Air Collector) solar receivers for the Megha parabolic trough power plant to be built in Andhra Pradesh, near Hyderabad, India. Megha is now the second project in India to be equipped with solar receivers from Siemens. Purchaser is Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd. Suzlon Says Workers on Strike at SE Forge Unit’s Plant

According to reports, about 200 workers are on strike at one of two factories run by SE Forge Ltd., a unit of Suzlon Energy Ltd. (SUEL), India’s largest wind-turbine maker. The workers, who are demanding that 25 trainees be hired as permanent employees, began a sit-in at the plant in Coimbatore on March 19, Suzlon said in a filing to the stock exchange today.
