Proinso supplies 35MW solar products in India during 2011

PROINSO, a company that supplies modules, inverters, trackers and fixed structures for ground- or roof-mounted PV systems, supplied a total 303 MW in modules and inverters in 2011 that were installed in solar projects around the world. Sula Vineyards goes green- replaces diesel with solar for water heating

Allianz, C-Quest Capital launch India carbon project

According to reports, German insurer Allianz SE (ALVG.DE) and U.S.-based C-Quest Capital LCC said on Tuesday they will finance the installation of about 8.5 million energy-efficient lightbulbs in India in return for U.N.-backed carbon offsets. The 10-year project will fund the installation of compact fluorescent lightbulbs in Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and northern Delhi, Armin Sandhoevel, chief executive of Allianz Climate Solutions, told Reuters in Singapore. Gussing Renewable Energy, Austria picks up 25 percent equity stake in GP Energy

Suzlon bags $400 million orders in last one month

Acoording to reports, wind turbine maker Suzlon has bagged contracts worth over $400 million from three countries, including Brazil and the US, in the past one month. The company bagged 80-MW worth of orders in India and a total of 189-MW worth of orders in Brazil and the US over a one-month period, excluding orders announced separately, Suzlon said in a statement today. Telcos, tower firms unwilling to carry burden of green norms in India

According to reports, the Union Government’s plans for powering telecom towers with renewable energy (RE) sources are not likely to be implemented smoothly.
