Volvo hybrid bus to hit Bangalore

According to reports, the Volvo hybrid bus, unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this month, would be launched on Bangalore roads soon, Karnataka Transport Minister R Ashoka said on Monday. The 105-seater single bus would have a two-month trial run in the city, expected to be from this month itself, he told reporters here. Tata Steel bags wind turbine contract from Siemens in Europe

According to reports, Tata Steel’s efforts to build a business catering to the wind energy sector in Europe, got a boost, as it secured a multi-million pound contract from engineering giant, Siemens. Karnataka will add 550 MW from renewable sources this year

According to reports, the Government of Karnataka will add about 550 MW from different renewable energy sources this year, according to a top official in the State Government. Of the 550 MW, about 250 MW will be from wind, about 130 MW from co-generation from sugar factories, about 50 MW from hydel power plants and the remaining from pico-hydel (of less than 5 KW) and solar sources, Ms Shamim Banu, Additional Chief Secretary (Power), Government of Karnataka, told reporters on ... Khosla funded LanzaTech Closes US $55.8 Million Series C Round

LanzaTech, a producer of low-carbon fuels and chemicals from waste gases, has closed its Series C round with new investment totaling US $55.8 million led by the Malaysian Life Sciences Capital Fund. New investors include PETRONAS Technology Ventures Sdn Bhd, the venture arm of PETRONAS,       the national oil company of Malaysia, and Dialog Group, a leading  Malaysian integrated specialist technical services provider to the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. Tamil Nadu industries call for demand side management
