India Misses Solar Target With 20-Fold Jump in Capacity in Year

According to reports, Indian solar power capacity expanded 20-fold in the past year to at least 356 megawatts, a third of the targeted level, after infrastructure, financing and weather- related delays, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Bangalore discom to seek 50% hike in power tariff

According to reports, The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) is preparing to file another tariff hike proposal before the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) by the end of this month. “We will be filing a tariff hike proposal but the exact dates and amounts have not been fixed yet,” said P Manivannan, managing director, BESCOM. Coimbatore Corporation begins efforts to tap solar energy
