Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals receives National Energy Conservation Award-2011

Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC) has been awarded Certificate of Merit for National Energy Conservation 2011 in Fertilizer Sector for its vital contribution in the field of energy conservation. On behalf of GSFC, Mr. Utkarsh V Yajnik, designated Energy Manager accepted the award from Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde, Hon’ble Union minister of Power in a ceremony held in New Delhi on 14th December, 2011.

This is the third consecutive year in which GSFC has been selected for this award. In the year 2008-09, GSFC received the first prize whereas Certificate of Merit was given in the year 2009-10 and 2010-11 for Company’s contribution in the field of energy saving.

The Ministry of Power, Government of India has launched a scheme to give national recognition through awards to industrial units contributing in the field of energy conservation through systematic and unrelenting efforts with an aim to have proper and effective utilization of energy. M/s Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is the coordinating agency. GSFC since its inception in 1962 by Government of Gujarat has put lot of efforts for energy conservation.

To have energy conservation through renewable energy, GSFC has installed different wind mill stations totalling 123 MW capacity in Kutch and Saurashtra region.
