Swiss Park aims at 100 MW of solar projects

According to reports, Swiss Park Vanijya, which is putting up a 5 MW solar project in Rajasthan, intends to ramp up its solar portfolio to 100 MW, an official of the company told Business Line today.

Swiss Park is a ‘migration project’ — or a project that was set up under an incentive scheme announced prior to the National Solar Mission but subsequently migrated to the solar mission. Therefore, it gets a tariff of Rs 17.91 a unit, which is pretty attractive given the steep fall in tariffs in the two rounds of bidding under the Solar Mission.

The average price in the second round of bidding was Rs 8.20.

Not happy with such low rates, which it believes to be temporary, Swiss Park intends to enter into bilateral deals with HT consumers of electricity.

With the benefit of ‘renewable energy certificates’, Swiss Park expects to get a price of around Rs 15 a unit.
