Power position in India turns grim as coal stocks dip at stations, again

According to reports, despite promise of increased coal supplies to the power sector, the fuel stock situation at key thermal stations seems to have taken a turn for the worse. The power situation can turn grim. Waste pickers in New Delhi protest against subsidies for waste-to-energy incinerators

According to reports, representatives of waste pickers’ organisations, citizens groups, environmental organisations and residents’ welfare associations held a protest dharna in front of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Lodhi Estate here on Monday. October trading in renewable energy paper in India at new high

According to reports, this month’s trading, as of today, in ‘renewable energy certificates’ touched a new high, both in volumes and prices. As many as 95,504 RECs were traded on the two exchanges – Indian Energy Exchange and Power Exchange of India Ltd – today, with the former accounting for 97 per cent of the trading.
