PowerGrid India plans to go global

According to reports, state-run PowerGrid Corporation, which is a central transmission utility, intends to go global as an investor and developer of the transmission system. As a beginning, PowerGrid Corporation has proposed to form a joint venture (JV) in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka for the setting up of an associated transmission lines to tranmit power within the respective countries from the proposed power project planned by India’s largest power generator NTPC. According to reports, the Voltech Group, global service provider in testing and commissioning of electrical systems on Monday signed agreement with NanoPV of the U.S., and Rank General Trading and Contracting Company (RGTC) of Kuwait. Dongfang clears India export hurdle with 1.5MW quality mark

According to reports, China’s Dongfang Electric has received international quality certification for its 1.5MW direct-drive wind turbine, removing a major barrier to exports of the machine – most immediately to India. China’s number-three manufacturer is one of the country’s first to get a Type certificate based on international guidelines set by technical standards body Germanischer Lloyd (GL) for design, testing and manufacturing. Turnaround at Suzlon continues, but sustainability concerns remain

According to reports, Suzlon Energy Ltd’s turnaround story continued for the third straight quarter, as it posted a net profit at the consolidated level, but concerns remain on its sustainability.
