Shriram EPC wins Rs. 6.4 bn EPC order from Abhijeet Projects for 50MW Solar CSP plant

According to reports, Shriram EPC Ltd has tied up with an Israeli company for executing a Rs 640-crore order from Abhijeet Projects Ltd for providing ‘engineering, procurement, construction’ services for Abhijeet’s 50-MW solar thermal power plant at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. According to reports, The first projects developed under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) during the ‘migration’ phase have shown real promise. They were developed with a tariff rate of R17.91/kWh, which presumably will prove sustainable for producing quality, energy-efficient solar projects. As Panchabuta had earlier reported, Kerala cabinet had decided to evict Suzlon from the land that was claimed to be illegally acquired by them and restore the land to tribals at Attapady in Palakkad district. Finance woes dog defaulter TNEB as it fights to get funds

According to reports, the state’s lossmaking power utility is in a fix following a default on debt repayments. The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), which annually borrows nearly Rs 13,000 crore from financial institutions, has so far taken Rs 18,000 crore in long and shortterm loans over the past couple of years.
