According to reports, in a bid to switch over to environmental-friendly energy sources, the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) is all set to run its offices and substations on solar power. The proposal for this project has been passed by the company and first phase of work is scheduled to begin in September.
“Six offices and six substations of the NPCL in Greater Noida will now run on solar power,” said CEO of NPCL, RC Agarwala. “The energy that would be saved in this manner would be diverted for the use of consumers, who are growing in number with each passing day,” he said.
Under this project, six offices of NPCL which are located in Greater Noida will begin using solar power to meet its own requirements. The offices are located in Knowledge Park 2, Knowledge Park 3, Builders’ Area, Delta, Alpha-I and Alpha-II. The six substations of NPCL that will run on solar energy are located in Surajpur, Kasna, Girdharpur, Udyog Kendra, Container Depot and Hatewa.
