Chinese wind turbine major Sinovel to use Ghodawat facility for production in India

According to reports, Sinovel Wind Company, China’s largest wind turbine manufacturer, is close to tying up with the Maharashtra-based Ghodawat Energy for renting Ghodawat’s manufacturing facilities to produce Sinovel turbines. Confirming this to Business Line, Mr Ranjit Wadhokar, Executive Director, Ghodawat Energy said that the deal between his company and Sinovel, which is the world’s second largest wind turbine company (after Vestas of Denmark) could be signed soon. Swiss company Schaffner plans to set up manufacturing unit in India

According to reports, Schaffner, Swiss maker of energy-efficient electronic components such as magnetic components and harmonic filters, sees major opportunities in India. It plans to set up a manufacturing facility in the country. “We are yet to decide on the size and location of the proposed facility. Kanoria Chemicals & Industries to commission 3-5MW Solar plant in Rajasthan by FY12

According to reports, Kanoria Chemicals & Industries recently sold the chloro-chemicals division of the company for about Rs 830 crore. Suzlon Energy receives 48.3 MW repeat order from Indian Oil Corporation

According to reports, Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL) has won a second order from the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. – a ‘Maharatna’ PSU and Fortune 500 company – to set up, operate and maintain wind energy projects of 48.3 MW in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Delta Electronics to invest $15 mn in Solar Plant in Chennai

According to reports, the $ 6.6-billion, Taiwan-based Delta Electronics is investing $15 million to set up a manufacturing facility for solar inverters at the SIPCOT Sriperumbudur Hi-Tech SEZ, near Chennai. The plant is expected to be operational by mid-2012. Close to 70 per cent of the output will be exported, while the balance will meet the rising demand for solar inverters in India.
