The Trade Commissioner Service is organizing a trade mission to India for solar, wind and bio-energy companies around the Renewable Energy India 2011 Expo.
The objective of the mission is to facilitate research and business partnership opportunities in India for Canadian companies and showcase their innovative technologies to senior representatives from both the private and public cleantech sector in India.
Participants will benefit from pre-scheduled business-to-business meetings with key potential partners, a networking reception and business briefings hosted by the High Commission of Canada to India as well as market briefings on solar, wind and bio-energy business opportunities by key experts in the Indian renewable energy sector.
India is the third destination for renewable energy investments worldwide. With one of the fastest growing economies in the world, India offers a multitude of opportunities for Canadian renewable energy companies. India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change set its renewable energy target at 15 percent of total energy output by 2020. The establishment of India’s green economy will necessitate an investment of more than $3 billion, creating encouraging prospects for Canadian environmental businesses as well as science & technology ventures.
