Consultations for 300 MW capacity addition of grid solar power projects start in India

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy will soon issue the guidelines for 300 MW capacity addition of next batch of grid solar power projects.

 The consultations in this regard started with the stakeholders here today. It was attended by about 250 participants including the project developers, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies, solar manufacturers, financial institutions and State Government officials.

 Senior officials of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Power and Planning Commission interacted with the participants. The participants requested the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to allow setting up higher capacity solar power plants. Developers also requested support for construction of transmission lines.

The guidelines to be issued will take into consideration the key suggestions which emerged out during the consultations. Thereafter, NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) will issue a request for proposal for the selection of new projects. The projects selected in the next batch are expected to be commissioned by 31st March, 2013.
