REpower Systems in tie-up with Italian Alerion CleanPower for 44MW wind farm

In April this year, Suzlon Energy had announced plans to acquire 100% of Repower Systems.  A few months ago, Suzlon Energy announced plans to shortly start making REpower wind turbines at its plant near Mangalore. Further, the offshore wind business is set to take off in India and Suzlon will expect that REpower will dominate that market in India with Suzlon’s market and sales expertise.

According to reports, REpower Systems and Alerion CleanPower SpA, an Italy-based renewable energy company, have signed a contract for a 44 MW wind energy project in Italy. REpower is responsible for supplying and commissioning the turbines and the Italy-based subsidiary of REpower would start construction in fall 2011.
