Adani Power to commission 40MW solar power plant in Gujarat- to be expanded to 100 MW in next couple of years

Diversified Adani group controlled Rs 2,106 crore Adani Power emerged as country’s largest private termal power producer with commissioning of its sixth generation unit at Mundra where the company is commissioning 4,620 MW of coal based plant.

Adani Power now operates 2,640 MW of total generation capacity. Tata Power, Essar Power and Lanco Infratech are some of the leading private power producers with plants running on different fuels.

Adani Power also announced that it will also commission a solar power plant with a capacity to generate 40 MW, which will be expanded to 100 MW in next couple of years.

Lanco has been one of the more progressive power companies when it comes to solar and the company in the recent past has said that it plans to build about 500Mw of Solar power through EPC contracts that provide  engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.

Further the company already has about 105MW of capacity under development and has plans of developing 300 MW in 2-3 years.  Lanco has successfully commissioned the second 5MW grid connected Solar Pv project in India. That project was done by Lanco in partnership with Trina Solar-the exclusive supplier of the PV modules.
