Rajesh C. joins renewable energy focused PE fund Nereus Capital as Managing Director

Nereus Capital, a leading renewable energy-focused private equity fund, today announced that Rajesh C. has joined the India-based investment advisor to the fund as a Managing Director.

In his new role, Mr. Rajesh will help identify investment opportunities in the Indian renewable energy sector that offer what Nereus believes will be strong risk-adjusted return opportunities for investors.

Mr. Rajeshʼs unique experience spans both developing and financing Indian renewable energy projects. Prior to joining Nereus, he served as Head of Investments of PTC India Financial Services Limited and Green Infra Limited, an Indian renewable energy producer.

Over the past 12 years, he has been involved in 12 power sectorrelated transactions representing US $340 million aggregate capital and 1,800 MW cumulative power generation capacity. Mr. Rajesh personally led eight transactions in the renewable energy sector representing US $280 million of aggregate capital and 1,420 MW of cumulative power generation capacity.

“Mr. Rajesh brings an impressive track record of investing in and developing Indian renewable energy projects including over 1,200 MW of aggregate capacity across wind, biomass, solar, and hydro-electric projects,” says Jonathan Winer, Managing Director of Nereus Capital. “We are delighted to add his experience and insight.”

“Nereus offers a unique investment platform that combines both a proven private equity team with an extensive track record in India and a sector-focused team, enabling the fund to pursue differentiated investment opportunities,” said John Zimmerman, Managing Director of Northern Lights Capital Group, a strategic investor in Nereus Capital.

“The Indian renewable energy market is growing rapidly. With more than a decade in the market in both operational and investing roles, Mr. Rajesh is well positioned to contribute to the success of Nereus going forward,” Zimmerman added.
