Lanco Solar bids for 200MW mega solar PV park in Greece

Lanco has announced plans to build about 500Mw of Solar power through EPC contracts that provide  engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. He further added that Solar business will be an independent vertical in the long-term.

Lanco has recently announced a plan to invest Rs.30bn in 250MW Solar PV manufacturing facility in Chhattisgarh. Further as Panchabuta understands, Lanco is in advanced discussions with GT Solar to set up the PV manufacturing chain.

Lanco Solar already has about 105MW of capacity under development and has plans of developing 300 MW in 2-3 years.  Lanco had successfully announced the commissioning of the second 5MW grid connected Solar Pv project in India. That project was done by Lanco in partnership with Trina Solar was the exclusive supplier of the PV modules.

According to reports, Public Power Corp SA (PPC) , Greece ’s biggest electricity producer, said 21 companies expressed interest in being a strategic partner for renewable energy investments, including the biggest solar project in the world.

Applications came from nine countries including  China ,  India , the U.S. , Spain , Japan and France, according to an e- mailed statement from the Athens-based company today.

Lanco Solar International Ltd. of India; a group led by Ellaktor SA; Toshiba Corp. and Mitsubishi Corp.; U.S-based Sunedison; Siemens AG; China North Industries Corp. and Atese SA; Spain’s Elecnor; China’sShanghai Aerospace Automobile Electro Mechanical Co. were eight of the groups expressing interest, according to the e-mail.

Earlier in the year, Public Power announced the EUR 600 million (USD 894 million) project to build a 200 MW photovoltaic park and an associated panel factory in Kozani, northern Greece, The biggest solar park at present is in Canada and generates 97 MW, PPC said.
