Suzlon plans a 290MW wind farm project costing A$ 390million in Australia

Suzlon has been the market leader in terms of installed capacity in countries like Australia apart from India.  Suzlon in its latest results announced a few days ago, had posted net profit in the last quarter and announced a very impressive record order book of $7.3bn equal to about 5000MW of Wind capacity.

Suzlon in the last couple of months has been on a trail blazing order booking spree and in keeping with the trend Panchabuta understands that the company has submitted an application for a 290MW wind farm in Australia.

The company has filed an application with the New South Wales government department for permission to build a wind farm in Australian town of  Rugby, southwest of Sydney, New South Wales at an estimated cost of about A$390 million ($392 million).

Suzlon has  partnered with Windlab Developments  and the application has been filed for a  capacity of about 290 megawatts. Further if approved, the start of construction of the windfarm project is planned for  mid 2012, with commissioning expected to take place in 2014.
