Solar Semiconductor enters into agreement with Solaria Corporation- PV modules to be cheaper by upto 40%

According to reports, Solar Semiconductor Inc, solar PV products maker and solutions provider, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Solaria Corporation, a USA-based manufacturer of cost effective solar PV modules, to produce Solaria’s patented product at its manufacturing plant located in Hyderabad, India.

Solaria CEO Dan Shugar said without revealing the exact figure, that they are going to invest tens of millions of dollars in the new tie up on development and capital equipment.

“We commissioned Solaria’s proprietary manufacturing process equipment at Solar Semiconductor earlier this year – valued at tens of millions of dollars, and have already produced and shipped modules for solar power systems in India and Europe.

“In this era of Indo-US partnership, Solaria and Solar Semiconductor are leading the way to advance the deployment of clean, solar energy.” he told mediapersons.

According to him, the Solaria’s technology would reduce the cost of product of PV modules to as much as 40 per cent making it cheaper compared to other modules.
